Dana Sackar, MPT
I am a physical therapist and received my Bachelor’s of Exercise Science in 1996 and Master’s of Physical Therapy in 1998 from Saint Louis University. I have been in practice for the past 18 years. I began my career in outpatient orthopedics where I worked with many well-known physicians in the Chicagoland area. My joy of becoming a mother in 2008 guided me to a more flexible work environment in home health. There I specialized in chronic pain and began practicing craniosacral therapy, zero balancing, and lymphatic drainage treating a diverse group of patients with a variety of medical conditions. Most recently my own fertility issues, resulting from scar tissue from a c-section, led me to become a certified Mercier Therapist.
I’ve recently become a member of the American Academy of Fertility Care Professionals, AAFCP.
I am passionate about Women’s Health, with an emphasis on infertility, pelvic pain, pre and postnatal care, and c-section recovery. My focus is naturally minded with a holistic approach to treating each person as an individual. The foundation of my practice is built on compassion and mindfulness, which helps yield dynamic results. I am committed to providing the highest quality of care to my patients. I am here to help you in your journey to healing. I will educate you regarding the best possible health and wellness choices and help restore balance within your body, in order to be the best you can be.
I am privileged to be a part of Sweet Pea’s Studio, a warm, family-friendly, and holistic studio specializing in classes and massage therapy for expecting and existing moms. This is a wonderful community of therapists, midwives, and educators committed to the health and well-being of women and children.
My daily spiritual practice is a guide for how I live my life. Each day I take the time to meditate, connecting to my inner self and life’s intention. Helping others nourishes my soul and allows me to be the best I can be. It is my goal every day to live my life authentically with compassion, joy, and well-being. By doing this work and being a mother, I am able to fulfill my life’s intention and for this, I am very thankful.
